I'm Two!

I'm the last of our family's spring birthdays -- first Ethan in early March, then James a couple of weeks later, and now me! We had celebrated with cake for all three birthdays, but I have to say I think my Dora the Explorer cake was the best of them all (can you guess which of Ethan's and my birthday cakes mom did and which cake dad did?)!

This was the first year I kinda knew what was going on during the birthday celebrations. I placed the candles myself, but got a bit nervous when it was time to blow them out. I didn't mind helping to cut the cake though!

Eating it was even more fun -- do you like See-Food?

I definitely enjoyed opening presents, too. With all the recent birthdays, I knew exactly what to do!

My main present this year was a princess dress, tiara, and shoes. It's a Juliet dress (or so the tag said) -- a deep wine red with very pretty trim. It's a bit big, but mom hemmed it up for me so I don't trip on it while I walk around in it. Don't you think it's pretty?

And thank you to Auntie Nancy and Uncle Jason -- the only two in my extended fof the Uncles and Aunts to remember my birthday! (At least, the only ones who remembered long enough to wish me happy birthday, anyhow!)

We can't forget Heather... she's the really good one at remembering birthdays, I just took the time to write a little blurb. Princess Lilly, I hope you will let Ashlyn into your court!!!

Oh Lilly, you look so regal and beautiful, truly a princess fit for any royal court! You didn't get our birthday card?? But we remember your birthday, happy 2nd birthday. Aren't you so lucky to have a mommy who can make you such a lovely cake!

Love, mama/yeye

Hello...I remembered too!! Just because I have a lot going on to distract me in my life and didn't call or email on your actual birthday doesn't mean that I forgot. Besides, when your daddy told you that I said Happy Birthday to you the next day, he said you didn't care anyway...how do you think that makes ME feel?

Happy Birthday, kid!

Alright alright, I take it back. Mama and yeye remembered but their card hasn't gotten to me yet. Auntie Michelle remembered, too, but I didn't get her greeting until the next day. Thank you both!

As far as remembering for long enough (or early enough) to wish me happy birthday before my birthday was done though, Uncle Jason and Auntie Nancy (and Heather) still get first prize though!

And Auntie Michelle, I didn't mean that I didn't care that you said happy birthday, just that I didn't care that you were late! I was glad to hear from you either way!

love you!
